Lonnie and Shannon

We provide therapeutic counseling and transformational life coaching to individuals and couples. Our clients are empowered to successfully navigate breakdowns and accelerate their personal growth. Every engagement is tailored to meet the individual’s specific goals and needs.

Our teaching draws upon the foundational knowledge, distinctions and practices covered in The Mastery of Integral Emotional Intelligence Program. This program is a distillation of the many life lessons and best practices we have learned over the course of our combined decades of work.

We take a holistic approach to being human. This means that while our focus is on developing emotional intelligence, we also work with our clients to increase their mental, physical, and spiritual intelligence.

Everyone is at a unique place in their path of personal growth and evolution. Wherever you are is the ideal place from which you can grow and evolve.

We have developed a way of working with clients that is a combination of life coaching, counseling, and teaching. While our clients have reported that their work with us has been deeply healing and therapeutic, our approach is more proactive and instructive than traditional talk therapy.

Transformational Intervention Program for Couples

The focus of this 12-session process is reestablishing affinity and creating a framework for greater partnership, so that couples are empowered to create a thriving relationship. The premises and practices in this program are ones that foster mutual respect, stronger bonds, and better communication.

Gaining Support and Encouragement

When breakdowns occur, couples need support and encouragement to address unworkable patterns in how they relate to each other. At the same time, each individual needs support in discovering and working through any issues they might have that are contributing to these challenging, often entrenched ways of operating.

Releasing Old Patterns and Habits

Most of us bring our childhood wounds, attachment issues and ego-defensive patterns from previous relationships into our current one. It requires internal house cleaning, becoming more internally emancipated, and building new skills to be able to choose different ways to engage with our beloved.

Evolving Within the Relationship

This step-by-step process supports both individuals in the relationship in letting go of the past and strengthening their bonds with each other. From the first session, this program encourages them to begin evolving in how they relate to one another. This results in a co-created, mutually beneficial relationship that both individuals feel good about.

The Mastery of Integral Emotional Intelligence Program

The work of The Highest Ground Institute is based upon the foundational knowledge and practices contained within this three-volume curriculum. These books are an owner’s manual for being human and a resource and reference guide for anyone who is interested in accelerating their personal growth or in enhancing their ability to effectively empower others.

This material is presented as a series of concise and readable textbooks that include both theory and practice. Although only Volume I has been published to date, the material contained in all three volumes is currently available through our therapeutic counseling and transformational life coaching programs.
